Monthly Maze Competition - February 2026
Every month Mazelog presents the challenge of a new logic maze. Solve the maze to get your name published in next month's list of correct entries.
Full details of how to enter are given below. Here's this month's maze:
Shark Island (medium)
This a new type of Jumping Maze (see Jumping Mazes). Start from the 1 on the pink square in the centre of the island. Go one step in a straight line in any one of the four directions: north, south, east, or west. You will reach a square with a number on it. You can now move this number of steps in a straight line in any one of the four directions.
Continue in this way to find the shortest route to the safety of a square on the beach, shown in yellow. But be careful that you don't overshoot into the sea where you will be eaten by sharks!

How to Enter
Your solution to the Shark Island maze above should be written as a sequence of numbers, indicating the route through the maze, where 1 is the top left cell and 121 is the bottom right cell. If you solve the maze interactively the solution will be typed in for you.
